Calf Pneumonia
Where there's calves, there's pneumonia! in varying degrees. Everything must be done to try and prevent this in line with the severity or level of risk on your farm. Vaccination is usually helpful for the diseases covered by the vaccine, but there is at least another 15 bugs that are not. Everything must be done to give the calf a good environment and to increase its natural defences.
We have a new product called "FIRST THIRST CALF TONIC", which is an adaptation of an older, but discontinued product called Calf Matrix / Viramatrix / Nutriplus. It is a standardised blend of plant extracts that improve respiratory function and defenses. Similar principles are in use in the so-called Easy Breather bucket type products. It also contains Imuherb / Eimericox and specific Egg yolk antibodies to imrove gut health. It is added to calf milk at 15g per calf per day until weaning. After weaning you can follow on with our lick bucket form, that also contains Yeast and Vitamins and Minerals.
