Mastitis
do you have more that 40 cases of mastitis per 100 cows per year? Either way, you need to measure it, monitor the causes and keep on top of it. Know your enermy. Whats the major bug? Is it environmental ? or Infectious? or both? What are you doing to raise the cows general defences?

Mastitis - E. coli and S. uberis were the most common isolates from milk samples this month followed by Candida krusei, S. dysgalactiae and S. aureus and single cases of Bacillus cereus, Corynebacterium propinquum, A. pyogenes and coagulase negative staphylococcal species. In one case seven milk samples were submitted to investigate subclinical mastitis and an increase in somatic cell counts and five different organisms were isolated including Candida krusei, S. aureus, S. uberis, S. dysgalactiae and A. pyogenes.
