Pigs & Poultry

Pigs & Poultry

To help pigs stay healthy and reduce piglet diarrhoea and young pig scour we have both in-feed oral supplements and disinfectants.

The Monoshield Pump can be used in piglets. The charcoal & kaolin in "Natural Carbon Clay" work as binders to bind up toxins and ammonia in both pigs and poultry. "NCC / Natural Carbon Clay is used extensively in pigs and poultry on the continent and approved by the EU organic body, "Skal".

Pro-BOOST provide pro-biotic  bacteria / "good bugs" plus pre-biotics ( oligosaccharides) which help good bugs grow, enhance the immune system and reduce the opportunity for disease causing bacteria to grow. This is know as "competitive exclusion" or CX.

Our TK GOLDdust Bedding Powder can be used in the farrowing and creep areas to dry up moisture and provide a DEFRA approved disinfectant to the surface. Drying powders  are also good to help the piglets navels to dry up. "Swordsman" is good when restocking a poultry house, placed on the floor before the shavings.

TK Swordsman is a good disinfectant against cryptosporidium, coronavirus, E.coli, Salmonella and Ringworm fungi, all tested in the UK. So its great for both pig and poultry housing including hens, chickens, broiler, turkeys, ducks, geese and game birds. It is not Defra approved because it is primarily used for Cryptosporidium and there is no Defra approval for that disease.

Frequently asked questions

Pigs and poultry require careful health management to prevent disease and maintain strong growth performance. Gut health, biosecurity, and hygiene are key areas to get right from the start. At G Shepherd Animal Health, we supply a complete range of feed supplements, disinfectants, and health aids to keep your livestock in top condition. Our products are designed to fit easily into your existing management routines, helping you prevent problems before they start. With the right combination of hygiene, nutrition, and daily care, you'll improve animal welfare, reduce treatment costs, and achieve better productivity across your unit.

Biosecurity is one of the most effective ways to protect your pigs and poultry from disease. It starts with keeping facilities clean, limiting access, and disinfecting regularly between batches. At G Shepherd Animal Health, we offer a full range of disinfectants, barrier products, and cleaning solutions designed specifically for livestock environments. By maintaining high hygiene standards and using quality biosecurity products, you can reduce infection risks, improve welfare, and ensure full compliance with farm-assurance requirements. A consistent, proactive approach to biosecurity helps safeguard both your animals and your long-term productivity.

Gut health plays a vital role in early development, feed conversion, and immunity. Piglets and chicks are especially sensitive during the first few weeks, so supporting gut function from day one can make a major difference. G Shepherd Animal Health provides probiotic supplements, electrolytes, and digestive support products designed to encourage healthy digestion and resilience. By building a balanced gut environment early, you help prevent common issues such as scour, stress, or uneven growth. A strong digestive system means healthier animals, better performance, and a smoother transition through each stage of production.

Good nutrition underpins everything in livestock farming. Balanced diets with the right mix of vitamins, minerals, and energy sources improve growth rates, feed efficiency, and overall welfare. At G Shepherd Animal Health, we offer nutritional supplements formulated to support different life stages and production goals. Consistent feed management and quality additives help animals make the most of their diet while reducing waste and costs. Whether you're managing breeders, growers, or layers, providing complete and balanced nutrition ensures stronger animals and better returns for your business.
