A BRIX type Optical Refractometer for measuring the strength of cow colostrum with a built in light.

Also suitable for other liquids requiring  a 0 - 30 % scale on its screen.

Put a drop of colostrum on the slope, lay the cover over to spread the colostrum, hold upto the light and read the strength through the eyepiece.

DO NOT DIP THE REFRACTOMETR INTO THE COLOSTRUM AS THIS AFFECTS THE ELECTRIC LIGHT AND VOIDS ANY WARRANTY

A horizontal line in the screen gives you a reading. a reading of 22 or more on the Brix scale is GOOD TO GO!

Lower than 22  colostrum should be used for second or later feeds OR fortified with our First Thirst Colostrum fortifier.
