DIARID Boluses are for calves with a digestive disturbance including loose dung.

Calves showing signs of digestive disturbance or producing loose dung shouldn’t automatically be dosed with antibiotics – those days are gone forever!

One possible alternative to the use of antibiotics in combatting some microbial infections is the use of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs).

MCFAs have been proven to have antimicrobial activity against some of the common forms of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria found on farms. MCFAs have long been one of the standard bactericides finding various uses in human food production.

The Diarid Bolus for Calves is a combination of MCFAs with kaolin and carbon bound into an easy to administer bolus that quickly breaks down once in the digestive tract.

In cases of calf diarrhoea simultaneous rehydration therapy is advised, we recommend using either Life-Guard Sachets or RehydroGEL. Veterinary attention may be required if the calf does not improve or an outbreak of disease occurs.

Feeding rate is 1 bolus, three times a day, usually for a couple of days. a full datasheet is below and in the pack.

Rehydration therapy is advised in cases of diarrhoea. We recommend Life-Guard Sachets or RehydroGEL

We've used Diarid for 5 or 6 years now after they stopped producing charcoal for calves. It works better than that even.

We like using your products because they work. We use your DIARID BOLUSES on our calves. We use them straight away and find this reduces the need for tube feeding calves and Antibiotic use.
