Measure the pelvic area of all your bulling heifers.
By measuring the size of the birth canal in yearling heifers. The Pelvi-Measure is used " per-rectum" to measure the area of the pelvic or birth canal.
When done prior to the first mating season, heifers with small pelvic area or misshaped pelvic canals can be removed from the breeding program. So, with each generation you can breed for increased pelvic area.
This design is a slightly more slender construction that previous versions.
The device is made up of two aluminium arms and a scale in centimetres. The measurement scale is engraved so is resistant to wearing off.
Comes with instructions on how to take measurements and an informative table showing the pelvic size/calf weight relationship to dystocia and bull traits.
Access to an EXCEL spreadsheet tool that ranks you heifer , taking into account their age, is included. Basically ranked on pelvic size for age.
