Plasti-Save is a system to reduce plastic usage & delivery miles in the dairy hygiene chemical supply chain.

What we have done is made this ‘chain’ into a ‘loop’, like a bicycle chain.

There are three parts to the system:-

• REDUCTION of volume of chemical, so less plastic packaging is needed and less delivery journeys. Basically we are shipping less water. We have developed a range of highly effective BactoBAN products in concentrated form for cleaning the milking parlour and bulk tanks.
• RE-USE of the drums as many times as possible. We allow return of the drums and IBCs, which are laundered, tested and re-used. Our recent work with UCLAN shows over 99% savings in carbon with each re-use cycle, even after allowing for the laundering process.
• EFFICIENT DELIVERY by using remote level sensors on the barrels. Both the farmer and our HQ can check the level of chemicals and organise efficient and timely delivery. Empty containers being collected at the same visit.

There are massive savings in plastic and carbon to be made, plus it improves efficiency and tidiness.
